The name "snow lotus seed" is not very common; it is also known as Egyptian bean, Muslim bean, and chickpea, with "chickpea" being the most vivid name. Each snow lotus seed has a small pointed tip, looking amusingly like a chicken's beak. They are soft and full when chewed, with a texture similar to peanuts. You might ask, "Why not just use peanuts?" Because peanuts are allergens for some consumers, and it would be a pity if they couldn't enjoy the tender gluten because of this. Therefore, Qingye uses the nutritious snow lotus seed—"chickpeas"—to replace "peanuts."
